Killer World Of Warcraft Shaman Guide
When writing a world of warcraft Guide about Shamans you could easily do it by merging a world of warcraft guide for warriors, mages or any healer class. Or you could even make the mistake of mistaking Shamans for Druids, because, just like Druids, Shamans are a hybrid class capable of tanking, healing and casting. However you might be told that they do not perhaps perform these abilities as well as specialist tank classes like warriors, or healing classes like priests or a caster class like Mages. There might be a case for thinking this way but consider this: the Druid can heal in tree form tank while in bear form, do dps while in cat form, the Shamans can do all these things – at the same time! This is where their real power manifests itself whether played as a solo class or with a group.
What makes the Shaman unique is their use of totems which when fixed on the ground gives them and other group members a wide range of benefits such as healing and aid when fighting opponents. It’s the use of totems and how to use them effectively which is what makes playing a Shaman an exciting and challenging experience. There are four types of totems: Earth, Fire, Water and Air and each require split second decision and sound judgement when used in tricky combat situation or group play. Shamans have also the ability to resurrect themselves and others in their group using the Reincarnation spell every hour of played time; this can also be reduced to 40 minutes as they assign more talent points to that ability. Another great asset to any group and a great ability to have if you solo.
Shamans are no longer restricted to Horde since the release of the Burning Crusade expansion. Now the new Alliance race the Draenei, can also play as a Shaman which of all the classes that they have at their disposal is one of the best for them to pick thanks to attributes that are unique to this race which makes this class an ideal choice for them.
At end game (level 60 and 70 and beyond) you can specialize as either as an Elemental, Restoration or Enhancement Shaman each having their own specialized abilities. For the Elemental tree the focus is on abilities for high damage casting and as such are regarded as the best choice to power level quickly. On the other hand the Restoration Shamans possess more effective healing abilities making them useful back up casters and, of course, healers.
This short world of warcraft guide on shamans only scratches the surface when describing this complex and multi talented class. It’s a class that is described as jack of all trades and master of none. But this is what makes them fascinating to play, because as you play it you will be able to determine whether you enjoy casting, tanking or healing. And make no mistake, Shamans can master all of these skills just as proficiently as any of the classes that are more specialized in them, making them expert of all of these abilities and definitely the jack of none. And find out at your peril if you belong to a class that thinks this.
