WoW – the most popular online game

World of Warcraft is well known as the most popular online multiplayer game, with nearly 9 million players worldwide. They all love the escapism and sense of adventure that comes from playing on their wow accounts and some spend many hours each day adventuring in the virtual world. A wow account offers the ability to be a variety of characters, from a heroic paladin to a sneaky rogue or a helpful cleric. All sorts of players are accommodated as well, and playing world of warcraft lends itself to those who are exceptional in teams and willing to form complex alliances as well as those who are more interested in individual and small team play. For millions, a wow account has been a gateway to an adventure perfectly designed for them and it looks like the trend will continue.

It all starts with a single character. Everyone begins play by logging into their wow accounts and designing the perfect character for them. There are a variety of races to choose from, from stout dwarves and thin elves to the undead of the Horde and a wow account allows a player to have multiple characters, so they can try out the unique adventure that each offers. Next, each player selects a class, deciding the way in which they want to specialize in the game, whether to focus on magic or close combat.

Then, all the players need to do with their wow account is log in and play. The millions of people who regularly play on their wow accounts are divided into game servers called instances. Each of these servers has a different name and players can only interact with those whose characters are on the same instance, though characters can be moved. For instance, if a player regularly logs into their wow account and plays on a certain server, but then makes some friends whose wow accounts have their primary characters on a different server, he can move his character to their server so he can interact with them in the game.

Wow accounts can and have offered billions of hours of entertainment to people across the world. The game seems to have just the right combination of interaction, adventure, and simplicity to attract nearly anyone. With eight different races to choose from, nine different classes, and several thousand possibilities for skills, the combinations are nearly endless. There seems to be a place for anyone, from the individual role-player to the cunning guild leader. Of course, it isn’t all fun and games. A wow account isn’t a ticket to endless joy, some parts of the game can be repetitive and dull. Acquiring gold, for instance, can be an extremely repetitive and dull part of the game, especially when seeking the large amounts needed for some high level items. Even getting to the high levels can be difficult for a character, especially one that only plays at times. For that reason, some new businesses now make money selling virtual gold and player accounts to those that would prefer not to go through what they see as repetition.

Player opinions on the practice are mixed; while some are genuinely upset about it, others see the existence of those who sell wow accounts as a good. Certainly, the number of such businesses is evidence that there is real demand, but many of them are untrustworthy. Buymmoaccounts.com is one such site, and it has made a name for itself by being discreet and supplying what players want. In this writers opinion, buying and selling wow accounts can’t be a bad thing if sites like buymmoaccounts.com are the ones doing it.

World of Warcraft, Healing To Damage

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks then you should be fully aware of the big change coming in patch 2.3, +healing will now also give +33% of that healing back to the player in +damage. Certainly one of the most game changing buffs to ever be introduced though it seems to be somewhat down played compared to other potential changes.

This has been a long awaited change for many healers who have been complaining for ages that they were simply useless outside of raids. Without any damage gear they were confronted with no way to farm, quest, or really even PvP without the aid of another person or group of players.

Beyond the fact that healers should be able to grind at least semi-effectively, the changes to PvP and arena could be quite considerable. Now most healers are going to have anywhere from 1400-1800 healing in their PvP set, meaning 462-594 damage. Doesn’t sound like all that much, but take for example a standard 2345 setup (mage, warrior, holy priest, holy paladin, elemental shaman). The team has great success for one reason in particular, 2.5 healers. In addition, that team in a way now has an additional damage dealer via the holy priest’s shadow word: pain.

Though please don’t overestimate the change, a healer’s primary role in an arena is still going to be just that. Though the damage they have the potential to put out cannot be ignored, especially in the case of a 2.5 healer team, the “2345″ setup for example. I’m quite intrigued by the possibly of tri-talent specs popping up, as they take advantage of both healing and damage talents, adding additional versatility.

The shadow priest, Foxem, which plays on both my 3v3 and 5v5 team has already expressed interest in going back to holy as a tri-spec. Obviously his primary function would be as a dispeller and backup healer to our druid, though the ability to toss the extra DoT up and mind flay a target when it looks like we can secure a kill would be invaluable.

When you break it down to the most basic of levels this change will certainly alter the way in which a team secures a kill. All of the sudden a healer’s extra bit of damage right at the end might be the bit that gets the kill. Earth shock, shadow word: death, holy shock, and many other healer offensive spells will become true threats in the next few weeks.

How we play arena is about to change forever, and honestly, it’s a welcome change. It will allow talent specializations that were previously unrealistic to become viable. On top of the healer change, hunters are looking pretty solid. With so many buffs headed there way I’m interested to see how the class will respond as far as arena ratings go. There’s just so much coming in the next patch I simply cannot wait, new content, new gear, new arena season, it’s sure to be a blast!

A complete leveling guide to warcraft professions

In the World of Warcraft (WoW), before you choose a warcraft professions leveling guide, you have to take into account several things like what kind of items you will be able to make and whether your class will have any use for them. Among various professions chosen by you, Engineering and Enchanting are most sought-after ones for every type of class. Blacksmithing is not considered a lucrative job if you aren’t a Warrior or Paladin. However, Tailoring comes in handy for Mage or Priest.

Now, you may ask what makes engineering a good choice. The answer is, firstly, by choosing this profession you can assure yourself of best equipments, especially when you make it to the higher levels. It’s not necessarily going to make you a fortune; on the other hand, it may probably cost you dearly in the short term. But it is worth trying since in exchange of a little money, you get all the awesome little gadgets that you’ll soon be making so as to get you out of all sorts of problems. And if you go in for a Paladin, Engineering comes in handy being the only method to get ranged attacks. So, if you have planned on doing these things, also take into account mining since you’ll be needing ore desperately.

Though Enchanting may also be a good option, due to it being rather difficult, many do not opt for it and leave it for the higher levels of the game. When it comes to Tailoring, it is often believed to be the easiest professions by many players. Tailoring is all about making cloth armor and bags, which enables you to make stuff right from the scratch that you will be using on up into the higher levels.

After tailoring, comes Leatherworking which is also thought to be easy. In case, you are in one of the classes, that makes you wear leather such as a Hunter or Druid then this is a good choice. However, some classes will move on to mail armor as they rise through the levels, the actual value use of leatherwork decreased for them. A good choice to go with this would be Skinning.

Alchemy is another profession you can go for. In this profession, there are a lot of herbs which you may need to make potions. With preparing potions, you should also consider Herbalism. These potions can prove to be very beneficial for health and mana while fighting. In order to store these herbs, create an alt storage character and then farm (or have an alt farm) for the herbs needed. It would be interesting to note here that you should not forget to send some gold to the storage character, so she can send the herbs back. Use the in game mail system to send the herbs to the storage character.

These classes are prone to running low on those things—like Mages and Healers—should consider Alchemy. Apart from all the primary warcraft professions, there are several secondary professions, too which this leveling guide will help you a lot. Although these secondary professions don’t count against your limit of two professions, the importance of each profession in relation to your class should be taken into account, albeit there is nothing to stop you from learning them at all.

World of Warcraft Karazhan Walkthrough Part 1: Attumen the Huntsman

If you’re looking for a World of Warcraft Karazhan walkthrough for Attumen the Huntsman then you’ve found the best on the net.

Go into Karazhan through the front door and go to the left. Kill the undead and horses. In the stables at the end sits the undead horse Midnight. This is the first boss of Karazhan.

Attumen the Huntsman (and Midnight, his trusty steed) is perhaps one of, if not the easiest raid boss in all the World of Warcraft. You hopefully shouldn’t have that much trouble with him. He was one of the few raid bosses in Burning Crusade that I remember us downing on our first attempt with no wipes. He’s really rather simple and if you have the gear to progress in Karazhan, you should be able to down him in 2-3 attempts as he’s just a gear check more than anything.

Make sure that everyone has proper consumables, including food, elixirs, health pots and mana pots. Deadly Boss Mods is also highly useful, and can be found online easily. Everyone should ideally have both Deadly Boss Mods and Omen (or another appropriate threatmeter) before they make their first journey into Karazhan.

Optimal Group Composition:
1 Warrior Tank (any epic’d tank is fine, too)
1 Offtank Tank (warrior, druid or paladin works)
3 Healers (doesn’t matter)
5 DPS (doesn’t matter)

Most of the raid should have level 70 blues if not a few crafted and PvP epics. A few greens are alright here and there, but don’t let the guy in level 65 quest greens come.

Have your offtank to go in to tank Midnight. He should be tanked in the middle of the stables, and when the tank has sufficient aggro, DPS starts on the horse. When you beat Midnight down to 95%, his master Attumen will spawn. The main tank should grab Attumen as he spawns and tank him next to Midnight. A timely misdirect is useful here, if you have a good hunter in the raid. The Attumen tank should spam Disarm and Spell Reflection on Attumen to lower his DPS and reflect the curse Attumen casts. Druids and mages need to dispel this curse when they can. Melee classes need to avoid the front of Attumen because he uses a nasty Shadow Cleave.

DPS down Midnight until he gets to 25%, then Attumen will mount up. Aggro wipes when he transitions, so all DPS needs to halt for the main tank to pick up Attumen. He’ll start using a charge ability, but he won’t charge people who are closer than 8 yards away, so everyone needs to group up behind Attumen and right next to him, which both avoids his charge and nerfs his cleave. Once the main tank has good aggro on Attumen, start DPS again as normal until he drops dead. Congratulations, you’ve beaten your first boss in Karazhan!

If your raid is having trouble with Attumen the Huntsman, then you are having aggro problems and your DPS is dying when he switches, your tanks are dropping because they need better gear (tanks must have appropriate defense to be crit immune), or your tanks are dying because your healers are running out of mana. Make sure the raid has mana potions, health potions, and good buff foods. Also make sure that everyone has threatmeters installed and working and make them watch it! I’ll soon be back with another guide on Moroes in Karazhan, then the rest of Karazhan, and after that gold and powerlevelling guides.
